Cute-FTP version 3.5

    CuteFTP is the fastest, easiest way to transfer files across the Internet. Whether publishing a Web page, downloading the latest digital music and software, or transferring high-volume files between branch offices, CuteFTP provides the tools you need to get the most out of the Internet.

Setting up and using Cute-FTP

    After you have downloaded Cute-FTP, click on:
Start Button > Programs > GlobalSCAPE > CuteFTP
and select the CuteFTP icon. 'Site Manager' is the first window displayed and contains information for connecting to your favorite sites.

To connect to our web host servers:
(Before you can connect to our servers, you must be connected to your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Since virtually all ISPs differ in connection routines, consult their technical support if you have problems getting your computer on the Internet.)

  1. Select a folder (click on the name) for the new site to reside in or create a new folder. To create a new folder, click the 'Add Folder' button. Enter the new folder name and click 'OK'.
  2. Click the 'Add Site' button.
  3. The Add Host window will appear.

  4. Enter a name for your site in the Site Label field. (This can be any name you want)
  5. In the Host Address field, enter one of the options below.
    • Domain Clients:
      Enter your domain name in the Host Address field.
      -- for example, www.your_name.com. --
      Note: If your hosting account with Bronson-tate.net was set up in the previous 24 hours you will have to enter the Host Server Name provided in the Uploading Instructions email you received when you signed up for your account
    • Non-Domain Clients:
      Enter our address:
      www.bronson-tate.net
      --or--
      216.117.144.28
  6. In the Host Type field select Automatic detect from the drop-down list.
  7. In the User ID field type the Account Name/User ID that was included in the e-mail that was sent to you after signing up.
  8. In the Password field type your account password. Your password will display as a string of asterisks as you type.
    Note: Remember, your password is case sensitive!
  9. Login Type, should be set to Normal.
  10. Transfer Type, should be set to Auto Detect.
  11. Leave all the other fields blank.
  12. Click on OK.
    Your computer will connect to Bronson-tate.net. If you are prompted for you password again retype it and click on OK.
To transfer your data:

After your computer has established an FTP connection, the FTP transfer window will be visible.

To upload a file, you may do any of the following:

  1. Click on a file in the left window, hold down the button, and drag the file to the right window.
  2. Right-click on a file in the left window and select Upload from the pop up menu.
  3. Double-click on a file in the left window.
  4. Left-click once on a file in the left window and select Upload from the 'Commands' menu.
  5. Left-click once on a file in the left window and press the Control and Page Up keys simultaneously.

To download files, use one of the following methods:

  1. Click on a file in the right window, hold down the button, and drag the file to the left window.
  2. Right-click on a file in the right window and select Download from the pop up menu.
  3. Double-click on a file in the right window.
  4. Left-click once on a file in the right window and select Download from the 'Commands' menu.
  5. Left-click once on a file in the right window and press the Control and Page Down keys simultaneously.

		
That's it.
You now have uploaded your web site for all to see.
